Summer festival Lake Night moves to the other side of Donkvijver and expands: “But our concept with sultry music remains the same” | THE FESTIVAL SUMMER

OudenaardeAfter two canceled editions, Lake Night returns. “The concept of the well-known summer festival with sultry music remains the same, but there are important differences. We are moving and expanding with a second holiday”, the organizer announces.

“It has been a dream of ours for many years to move the festival to the other side of the Donkvijver”, says Lowie Cnockaert, who organizes the festival together with Jeremie Van De Walle, Sander Scheldeman and Henri Vandenheede. “While we have used the accommodation of Watersportclub Absolut VZW in recent years, we are now making the crossing to the event meadow on Minderbroedersstraat. As a result, we hinder the busy summer camps of Surfclub Absolut less. Moreover, at the new location we have the space to grow further as a festival and organization”, Lowie motivates the decision to move.

New suppliers

The organizers apparently also have to take into account traces left behind by the corona pandemic. “We have had to make many new contacts with suppliers, so we have decided to grow wisely and steadily. That is why this year the tickets are limited so that at the same time we can let the attendees experience the full Lake Night experience and the future of our organization is not jeopardized,” explains Sander Scheldeman.

after work

Henri Vandenabeele came up with the idea to expand Lake Night with a second festival day. “On Friday 29 July we organize our first ‘Lake Night Afterwork powered by Belfius Flemish Ardennes-Waregem’. For several years now, we have been asked by local SMEs to create a setting where local entrepreneurs can be brought together, and our first Afterwork was born from this. It will be a pleasant gathering of our sponsors and sympathizers. Moreover, the entrance for that evening is free and everyone older than 21 is welcome,” says Henri.
Lake Night takes place on Friday, July 29 from 5pm to 1am and Saturday, July 30 from 3pm to 3pm. Tickets for Saturday are limited and only available online through Lake Night’s social media channels. The message is to be quick.
