The American Drama Series succession has received 25 nominations. With that goes the comic series Ted Lasso and miniseries The White Lotus (each 20 nominations) in advance. Also hacksOnly Murders in the Building (both 17 nominations) and Euphoria (16) still have a chance to win a whole bunch of Emmys.

In the main category – best drama series – will succession taking on heavyweights like Stranger ThingsOzarkBetter Call Saul and Euphoria

It is striking that the South Korean Netflix hit Squid Game is still in the running for the Emmy Award for Best Drama Series. It is the first time in history that a non-English-language series has been nominated in the main category.

Zendaya

At 25, Zendaya is the youngest producer ever to be nominated for an Emmy. In total, she received three nominations. In addition to a nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series (Euphoria), Zendaya is also competing for an Emmy in the best music and lyrics category with two songs. The singer wrote the songs ‘Elliot’s Song’ and ‘I’m Tired’. As a producer, she competes against music from the series This Is Us, Schmigadoon! and The Marvelous Mrs. maizel

In the battle for best lead actress, Zendaya takes on Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Laura Linney (Ozark), Melanie Lysnkey (yellow jackets), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) and Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show† In 2020, at the age of 24, Zendaya already won the Emmy for best leading actress in a drama series. She was the youngest winner in that category ever.

In addition, Chadwick Boseman has a chance to win an Emmy two years after his death. He has been nominated for the top US TV award in the Best Voice Over category (What if…?). Boseman died on August 28, 2020 at the age of 43 from the effects of colon cancer. He kept his illness a secret from the general public for a long time, and his death came as a shock.

The awards will be presented on September 12 in Los Angeles.
