Marcel Gelauff stops as editor-in-chief at NOS News

Marcel Gelauff will stop as editor-in-chief at the NOS on 1 September. He worked for the broadcaster for 20 years, and began his editorial work as deputy editor-in-chief. In 2011, he became editor-in-chief. Gelauff says it is good for both the broadcaster and him that there is some news.

“There will be times when I look back with fondness, but I’m sure pride and satisfaction will prevail. An editor-in-chief can only support his or her editorial staff if he or she is also supported by the editorial team. And I am grateful that my editors have done that all these years.”

Gelauff says it was time for a new editor-in-chief, “someone who can put their own and different accents again”. He leaves journalism after a career of 42 years. Gelauff previously worked as editor-in-chief at RTL Nieuws, and wrote for the Leidse Courant and the Gooi- en Eemlander.
