TVYesterday Tine Priem welcomed about 1,700 soap fans to the Herkenrode Abbey in Hasselt for the wedding ceremony of her character Tamara to Bob (Christophe Haddad). The wedding was already shown on TV last week, but was repeated live.
After the ceremony, all those present got to see tonight’s episode for the first time over a glass of Phoenix bubbles. And that gave rise to cries of surprise, because, as it should be in a soap, it is not all romance that counts. The fictitious newlyweds received congratulations and flowers here and there. Mathias Vergels (Lowie) closed the event with a live performance with his group.
“I didn’t wear my wedding dress very often before my own wedding,” laughs actress Tine Priem. “The shooting of the TV wedding was spread over several days and in different locations, but today it was no stress and enjoying with the fans. It was so nice to be able to experience this together with the fans.”
Fellow actor and TV groom Christophe Haddad also looks back on this day with satisfaction: “It was a unique day in the sense that we could really give something back to our viewers here this afternoon. We come from a period when we haven’t been able to see each other for so long. That is what makes this day so unique. Without them ‘Home’ does not exist, every viewer is a part of the program”

In addition to Tine Priem and Christophe Haddad, Thuis actors Yemi Oduwale, Katrien De Ruysscher, Nawfel Bardad-Daidj, Mathias Vergels and Bram Spooren were also present. “It was wonderful to be with our viewers again after such a long time. I found it really heartwarming”, says Katrien De Ruysscher.
Bob and Tamara arrange the 29th wedding in ‘Home’, but marital bliss never lasts long in the series. Of the 28 previous couples who already gave their ‘yes’ in ‘Thuis’ and can still be seen in the picture, only Nancy and Dieter are still together. All the other duos have disappeared from the story, divorced or saw their marriage dissolved due to the death of one of the partners. Frank (Pol Goossen) and Simonne (Marleen Merckx) are currently not officially divorced and can still become the third happy couple in ‘Thuis’. But first Simonne’s affair with Dirk (Ron Cornet) must be cleared up and forgiven.
