HBO Max is throwing a party with 12 new movies

It was another great week on HBO Max! We dive into the new offering of the streaming service, which is again full of great titles.

Homefront (2013)

Jason Statham plays a retired DEA official who moves to a small and quiet village for his daughter. Unfortunately, it is not exactly safe here, partly due to the presence of a local drug lord, played by James Franco.

Beginners (2010)

After the death of his mother, Oliver (Ewan McGregor) is startled by a statement from his father (Christopher Plummer) that he is gay and has a younger lover. While trying to deal with this, Oliver gets to know Anna (Melanie Laurent), with whom he begins a relationship.

Chance of a Lifetime (1998)

Freelance author Tom Maguire has quite a bit of health issues, as his back is in pretty bad shape. He decides to marry Irene Dunbar, a former publisher and good friend of his, so that he can still be insured. But their marriage does not go quite as planned and the two are faced with quite a few surprises.

Sightseers (2012)

Direction: Ben Wheatley | cast: Alice Lowe, Eileen Davies, Steve Oram, Roger Michael

A couple (Steve Oram and Alice Lowe) decide to venture into the English countryside. They run into a local resident and the mood suddenly changes. It gets a lot grittier but also a lot funnier.

Navalny (2022)

In August 2020, a plane flying from Siberia to Moscow made an emergency landing. One of the passengers, Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, was critically ill. He was taken to a local hospital and eventually evacuated to Berlin, where doctors confirmed he had been poisoned with Novichok, a nerve agent previously implicated in attacks on other opponents of the Russian government. President Vladimir Putin denied any involvement. Not only does Navalny survive the poisoning, but as soon as he recovers a bit, he counterattacks…
