‘Versatility and contrasts’

The royal couple has come to see the ‘versatility and contrasts’ of the Dune and Bulb Region with their own eyes. Willem-Alexander and Máxima left Lisse for Voorhout, for a tour of the bulb company WF Leenen by its owners.

After being extensively updated by representatives from the bulb sector and from involved organizations, the king and queen view the blooming bulb fields at The Tulip Barn in Hillegom around noon.

Around 1 pm they are welcomed by mayor Cornelis Visser in the Orange-oriented Katwijk aan Zee, for a visit to the beach, the holiday homes there and a conversation about the tourism sector.

At the end of the visit, from 2 p.m., space travel takes center stage in Noordwijk. The royal couple visits the Space Business Innovation Center there and talks with the owners of young companies in this sector.

Enthusiasts who want to catch a glimpse of Willem-Alexander and Máxima can do so in designated public areas. That is still possible from 12.15 to 12.30 The Tulip Barn at the 3e Loosterweg in Hillegom. Katwijk has a viewing spot at the parking garage on the Boulevard near the White Church between 1 and 2 p.m.
